Revolutionizing Pakistan’s Hospitality Sector

The hospitality industry in Pakistan is at a critical turning point, marked by immense potential yet hindered by significant challenges. Despite being a vital contributor to the economy, with the sector projected to generate $1.49 billion in revenue by 2024 (Statista), and expected to exceed $5.2 billion by 2030 (One Homes), the pace of technological advancement within the industry remains alarmingly slow. The absence of digital solutions not only limits operational efficiency but also results in missed revenue opportunities for hotels. According to a report by McKinsey, hotels that invest in digital solutions can boost revenue by up to 20%. Additionally, a study by Deloitte found that 80% of hotel guests prefer using digital tools for booking and customer service, yet many hotels are still not fully embracing these technologies. As a result, hotels that fail to implement digital solutions may miss out on an average increase of 12-15% in annual revenue. Globally, 83% of travelers now prefer online booking systems for convenience and accessibility (Condor Ferries), yet in Pakistan, only a small fraction of hotels offer this option. A report by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) highlights that the lack of digital adoption in the tourism sector has hindered growth and made the industry less competitive compared to regional players. This digital gap is especially concerning when considering that the global online travel booking market is expected to grow to $983 billion by 2027 (Research and Markets), signaling a shift that Pakistani hotels must embrace to stay relevant. Furthermore, a significant portion of domestic and international travelers are now tech-savvy, with 62.61 million travel-related app downloads reported in Pakistan in 2022 (Statista). Looking ahead, the tourism sector in Pakistan is poised for a remarkable evolution, with forecasts indicating that tourism revenue will surpass $30 billion by 2030 (One Homes). The absence of digital solutions not only limits operational efficiency but also results in missed revenue opportunities. As consumer behavior continues to evolve, travelers in Pakistan increasingly demand convenience, reliability, and accessibility when booking accommodations. Without a strong online presence, hotels risk falling behind in an industry that is becoming more technology-driven every day. To address this gap, our platform myservice is designed to provide innovative and practical solutions tailored to the unique challenges of Pakistan's travel and hospitality sector. By equipping hotels, agencies, and tour operators with cutting-edge technology, we aim to revolutionize the industry, bridge the digital divide, and unlock its full potential.

myservice, how we got started?

Hiring skilled labor is crucial for achieving desired results in any project. The quality of workmanship significantly impacts the final outcome. Recently, I decided to paint my parents' house in Skardu with a dark, high-reflection shade to have a bright room. After selecting a custom shade from Nippon Paint, I hired some painters who claimed to be experienced with their products. However, after two coats, the walls looked worse than before. The painter blamed the paint's coverage and suggested buying another gallon, and then another, but the results did not improve. The painter blamed the paint, while the vendor blamed the painter’s lack of skill. This experience emphasizes the significance of hiring skilled and experienced craftsmen who are familiar with the product they are working with in order to avoid costly mistakes and achieve satisfactory results. How can you find skilled, efficient, and cost-effective labor in the city while also reviewing their work history and customer satisfaction? The only problem? I didn't ask this question. After a couple of months while at a family gathering, I was talking to some of the people in the extended family, and one of them mentioned that there is no web application where they can go to hire a plumber. "Someone needs to build an app for that." This was the beginning of the idea for a skilled labor market, a problem I have personally faced previously. The idea is to create a platform where all kinds of skilled labor can create a portfolio for themselves. Each skilled laborer can showcase their craftsmanship and work history. People can simply hire through here rather than finding labor through calls and asking friends and relatives for references. "Our vision is to bring all skilled workers from various domains onto a centralized platform, which provides them access to customers beyond their usual reach. For the customers, it offers access to a diverse pool of skilled laborers with a broad range of prices, suitable for their projects." In addition to that, we aim to create a new marketplace by inventing new domains. We also aim to make it easier for amateur laborers to reach customers, while providing mentorship from experts in the industry. We are endeavoring to understand the nuances of the field and develop algorithms (iteratively refining the codebase for efficient and accurate algorithms tailored to the nature of the work, along with precise cost estimation) under the supervision of seasoned professionals. As of today, we are writing code under the supervision of the experts from the market, which represent the current way of working of the skilled labor, all while making it very easy to work with technology for any non-tech person.
